Generally speaking we aim to discuss all possible surcharges prior to the move, but inquiring all pertaining details from you. For example heavy and bulky items exceeding 300lbs on a flat surface (pianos, gun safes, treadmills, etc.) will most likely be subject to a heavy item fee. Additionally, we might assess extra fees for bulky furniture that is not movable via stairs or elevator, and will need hoisting services via balcony. Furthermore, standard hourly rates do not include packing materials such as regular boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, etc., and we would like to know if you need packing services ahead of time. Please provide as much information as possible about your move, so we can review and inform you if any extra fees are applicable.
This is by far the most frequent question we receive. Many factors influence the final cost, such as amount and complexity of furniture, driving distance, presence of stairs of long-walking, furniture protection desired, etc., and thus we do not guarantee any specific numbers. For long-distance moves and larger local moves (3-bedroom+), we offer a free virtual or in-person visual estimates in order to issue "not-to-exceed" or "flat-rate" quotes.
Torrance Movers does not specialize in appliances. Our services do not include liability coverage for re-connecting water and gas lines, pipes, or faucets. If customers insist on re-connecting such lines, it becomes their responsibility to ensure that washers, dryers, refrigerators, and faucets are properly connected to prevent any accidents.
